Guys

For those of you with Bota powered Cubs, I think I have found a one wire alternator that will fit the Kubota engines. Gotta check it out a little more but maybe we can run the PTO and the lights at the same time.

I have never seen a cyclops with front ports. Does anybody have a picture of the dash levers for the dual spool valve?

It's a 2nd lever that mounts above the normal deck lift one, you enlarge the slot cut in the dash panel to fit it. I don't have a picture handy but you can see me operating the levers in this video.

Update on my supers. Got the 2182 valves adjusted today. Talk about an easy engine to work on. Thing runs awesome! Gotta buy a PTO clutch for the 2182 thought I could get away with just a set of new bearings but after I pulled it apart I can see that the insulation for the coil is done. It still works but I doubt it will last or it would be one of those that as soon as it gets hot it craps out. Rebuilt the carb on the 2284 and have it running pretty good still need to fine tune on it a bit. I'm not a fan of the carb on a CH22, talk about a PITA. Tomorrow I hope to get to work on the polishing and waxing that they both need. I'll try to get some pics.

It sounds like you've decided to keep the 2182 and sell the 2284, am I right? You might have said earlier, but how many hours on each?

Dave

Yes the 2284 will be for sale, it has 510 hours on it. The 2182 has 475 hours on it. Both have 60" decks. I'm gonna keep the 2182 just because I think it's cool don't have a need for it. I use my BX to mow the large open area and my 1210 for the tight area. I should sell the 1210 but I'd never be able to get the $$$$ out of it that I have in it and it's also a cool little tractor.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
