Thanks for the detailed story with pics. it is newer than my 102, I think (I'm still searching for the id. it doesn't seem to be in any of the suggested places.) The steering wheel looks newer. mine is probably a 65.
it is inspiring to see the development from rust to shine. How did you get the starter redone? I have a small engine guy that does a fab job on rebuilding the delco gens for a measly $60.00. did one for my IHC 60-B-120 4x4. is that a second plow I see in one of the pics? hmmmm I'm still lookin' Manny in Beautiful British Columbia. |

Manfred Range-my 100 is older than your 102 , (series before those). The steering wheel is off a x9 series-QL and the motor is out of a 1000. I just painted the starter and buffed the aluminum end on it it was still good. Yea i got a few plows in the garage.ha

I guess you can tell I'm a real newbie to these Cadets! ah well,... but learning fast. I really need to get the literature on the cub cadet history, and then I wouldn't need to ask so many dumb Q?'s. Your thread is very inspiring. you've done us all proud. Done IHC proud too. I'm too late for the spring plow match, but perhaps I can find a plow for the fall match. Cheers, Manfred

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
