I haven't mowed for about 3 weeks. The yard looks like a crispy critter! Hit a high of 108 today! Very hot! reminds me of 1980 when I was a kid!

Thanks Allen, Its truly awesome mowing with a diesel. It just has so much torque you can go through anything. Plus there's nothing like the smell of diesel smoke in the morning

That's for sure. When one of us would get on the 125 and another on the 782 we could have my parent's yard done in no time flat. Plus it was pleasing to see someone else mowing while you were. Almost forgot about that memory. Thanks for bringing it back up for me. ![]()

Well, I started this thread - but never posted any pics as up to now, my 1650 was (and still is) in pieces and my 109 was not quite ready to mow.
That has changed. I've got the 109's 44 inch deck ready to mow, new blades, speed-up pulley and set the deck height at 3 inches. I need to do a little side to side adjustment, about 1/2 inch - but other wise I got a pretty good cut. The speed-up pulley kicked out the clippings better and I found no noticeable additional drag on the 10 hp engine. BTW - would it be possible to make this thread a sticky? It's very cool to see the end result of a Cub Cadet's mowing results - thanks!!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
