Straightende the drag link and tie rod. They were both bent pretty bad.
I don't have a torch to heat anything so I went to the next best thing, wood stove I got the two of them red hot and put them in the vise and now all is strait again. Didn't want to paint anything on this tractor, but I couldn't leave them all burnt looking. Now just waiting on some parts for the steering and front wheel bushings and she'll be as tight as a new one.

That forge looks strangely familiar. Is that a Fisher stove. I have the papa bear but have never used it to heat metal.

Great work Todd.
I paint whatever it is I'm working on ... if not I make sure it's not rusting away and otherwise leave it the way it is. I kind of like the "rat rod" look of honest wear and tear (and in the case of my O outright abuse and neglect) Good work! John

Took the engine back out today, thought that I got a gasket set for it I might as well get rid of some oil leaks.
Took off the oil pan, and thought I should take the head off as well to de-carbon the head, wow! Found out it's been punched 10 over sometime in it's life, and has a good bunch of carbon. So going to clean things up in there and do a valve job and put it back together. The little I had it running there wasn't any smoke. The oil that's in the picture was some I put in the plug hole and turned it over good before I tried starting it. I'm not going to spend alot of time redoing everything, just cleaning it up to run better ![]() Or!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
