Looking forward to finding out how you solve the cast iron rear with the diesel tank. My 1572 rear end is fubar'd, and I would rather put the effort into a cast iron rear end, then another aluminum one. How much do the fuel fittings interfere by? Could you shim the fender and tank up another 1/2" and make it work?

well the fitting on the bottom of tank hit by a little over a inch. with fittings removed i set tank back on fram with cast rear in place if i would of have top cover on at the time i would only have 1/8 or just slightly more of clearence so i found well plugs and plug holes. sorry no pic yet but i will move fuel fitting to front driver side of tank i already map out how to do this . i am just waiting on painter to get off his rear and blow some paint. he promised that he will paint fram and rearend tomarro. then start on rest .if you do not have rear pto this would go real fast even faster if you was not going to repaint ..i could of haved this done in one weekend if it wasn't for me having to paint things and make them look like new. go for the cast rear.you could use pump from rear from doner . and just bolt in and go. just make sure you get the front hanger bracket cause the ones from alum. will not work on cast. also i think you would be geared just a little higher but i donot think you could see any differentce. well have pic when i put back togather. that is when the family will get interested. and the camra come out. till then it just a hunk of junk to them.

well up date time. got most of parts back from painter the only thing i am waiting on is hood , side panels , rear fenders. i told painter to take his time and do good job. i have learned how to take pic with camera now i need to learn how to post them here. i will get it done just give me some time to figer it out. i can only do so much . got rear pto mounted . now the only thing i need is to figer out how i am going to put oil in rear.sence i covered up my oil fill plug. i know i could drill new hole to right of old fill plug .but i think pto and three point is going to cover it up to the point that i will not be able to get to new hole . will find answer out tomarro.O also old pto belts call for 32 inch belts i am going to take them back and get a set of 30 and 31 inch belts i feel 32 inch belts are a little long.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
