Got the new drive shaft boots for the CV joints today. Put the joint that bolts on the engine together and put the engine back in the tractor. Now I just need to get everything hooked back up and give it the smoke test. Then I'll pull the rear out and get it sorted out. Sorry kids no pics today. Maybe if I get motivated tomorrow I'll get some. Not like you are missing anything.

Sam It sounds as though you have been through a cub or two, You have some very sweet cubs! Have you been tearing into them long? Do you do your own prep and painting? It sure helps to have done a few that way you find all the little tricks to get to or remove something. Nice work!!

I've done more than I care to think about.

On and off probably 20 years or so.

I do most of my own paint but so far only rattle can stuff.

The brown truck showed up today with a couple sets of SGT rear end braces from Xtreme. Now I can get into the backend of the 1782. Got the gauges all hooked up and most of the wiring back together/ Hope to give it the smoke test tomorrow before I pull the tranny out. I like the brown truck.

Had a great day today. The smoker lives! Fired the old girl up today. Gauges work as the are supposed to. The fuel shut down cable works perfect. I replaced the pump adapter with one of my own and added one of those fan braces I had made the other day. Think I have a couple dead warning light bulbs, gotta check that out. One little fuel leak on the return line to the tank, the OEM hose clamps suck, went to the auto parts store and picked up new clamps just have to put them on. While I was out picking the clamps I stopped at the liquor store and Chivas was on sale, $5.00 off per bottle, picked up 3 cases. should be good for a couple days. Now I can pull the rear-end out replace the axle seals, the one odd ball tube and drill the oil returns in the case. I have everything I need to do that so no big deal.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
