The good deal in that it meets all the specs.
Now if price is your main criteria.....then see what you can live with.

I threw some coin across the pond. We'll see how long it takes to get here.

I bought a 2 stroke carburetor adjusting tool off ePay from Leicestershire last year, had it in about 3-4 days IIRC. Surprised this old redneck.

Roland. What would you think of a 2" round digital tach with blue or red numbers?

I have a concern with "digital display". If they read anything like my Fluke DVM, then the numbers will be all over the place.
I like the analogy for the above reason plus it looks more "period" ( or appropriate) to the tractor.

I wholeheartedly, agree. A digital tach just wouldn't look original enough for me. A drop in, analog tach would give the appearance of it being original.

This link here gave me everything I needed to know, or certianly gave me alot. The 15 amp alternator on a Kohler acts as a nine pole producing nine alternating cycles per crankshaft revolution. So the Kohler produces 9 cycles per revolution, at 4000 rpm that would be 36,000 cycles a minute (9x4000). In a second that would equate to 36,000 / 60 = 600 hertz. My guess would be that you use either the 400 hertz switch setting tweaked up to 600 Hertz (Hz) by the fine adjustment potentiometer or the 800 Hertz switch setting tweaked down by the fine adjustment. Either way I'm sure they will have made sure that all frequencies between 400-800 Hz are achievable. Now, the numbers given above are for tuning the Faria FP-001-0033-b Variable Frequence Tach. Which I can't seem to find a place online to order from. http://faria-instruments.com/product_sheets.php I have found another programmable tach by VDO-Instruments that I feel would also work. You can program this one as well via Dipswitches and a Potentiometer to tweak it in. This one programs based off of pulse per rev. But in the installation sheet it shows pulses per rev at 6000 and 8000rpm's. But no mention to 4000rpm. Could take some testing. http://www.vdo-instruments.com/instr...meter-12v.html Installation PDF: http://www.vdo-instruments.com/media...0Diameter).pdf

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
