We did look at the Chevy Cruze with the oil burner but the price difference between it and the VW was a shock, so we got the VW.

The "fix" is to be submitted to the EPA & CARB on Nov. 11th and they have 45 days to approve it. If they do approve, all of the brand new V-dubs will not only get the fix, but a nearly ridiculous warranty and a big price drop over MSRP. My dealer is thinking in the 8-10k range for a price break.

Even with all that's happened with the Dieselgate mess, I'd buy another VW.

We also gave a '13 Ford Flex SEL AWD non-turbo that I daily drive and couldn't be happier with. Lots of room, stout, pull 5k lbs. Gets low 20's for mileage but it only goes 10 miles round trip a day for me to work & back.

The Flex has been a nice enough car overall that I'll probably never go back to GM as the fit & finish of the Ford is, IMO, as good as GM.
Will VW be coming out with a new line of Diesels in 2017?

Yea, I know. I take it to a few shows a couple times a year. I also take it out every once in awhile to just drive through the country. The little 327 has only 60k miles on it and it feels like it has 600 HP. I guess it's just the simple engines back in the day when you could fix them yourself.

Sweet ride Ronnie!

Charles, I'm just like you. If it doesn't look nice I don't want it. We don't drive enough for the fuel mileage to make a difference. I'm starting to like the Panamera's but I'm thinking the service would empty the wallet.

Old Skull, if a manufacturer would ever tell me that I would call bs and never buy one of their products again ever.

Oak, the Panamera turbo s executive is bad ass. If you can handle the $200,000 for the car, Maintenance cost should not be an issue. I ran a 4s a few years ago with the 99 and whooped him pretty good. I was at the King of Prussia mall the other day. (I despise the mall but had to go with the my daughter) which is now the largest mall in the country. The parking lot is full of Panameras, Ferraris and lambos ect....

That's what my friend has and it is sweet. I think he said he gave $195k for it so it should be. He has less than 25,000 miles on it and said he would sell it to me for $85k which is a good deal but that is waaaayyyy out of my price range. He said it is a very well built car. We put an a/c system in his toy box last year for his 3 Bentleys, Ferrari and Panamera. I get wood when I'm in his garage.

It's not bad now, but when gas hit 5 bucks a gallon, it sucked.
According to Tesla's estimator, it will be $4.62 to charge after 115 miles. That's based on .12 per kilowatt hour. I'm pretty sure VW will re-release their TDI after everything settles down. They are probably just redesigning everything.

I read an article that the Chevy Equinox will be coming out with the same diesel engine the Cruze will have, if you're interested in something with more room in it. It'll be a 1.6L diesel...I misspoke earlier when I said 1.8L.

We need a video of a big smokey burnout or it's a 6 cylinder.

If electric cost $0.10/kW, 7.2x.1= $.72 an hr to charge your car. It would cost $2.88 to go 115 mile everyday. Generally, circuits are only loaded to %60 ampacity for continuous loads, so realistically it's probably closer to $1.73 for 115 miles.

This of course is after you buy the more expensive electric car, the $600+ power cord (charger) and pay someone (like me) to wire it up in your garage.

The Tesla estimator is based off a 240V, 48A charger. I believe that is the standard one that comes with the car, but I can't find that for sure anywhere.

Oak I have a good friend, nice guy and self made. He just bought his wife a Bentley Continental for her 60th birthday. I got to drive it. It is a incredible car. I love the guys that have more money than sense and buy the High end sports cars and can't drive them. I love embarrassing them with my lowly ford.

Sam you are correct my car is set up to go from point A to B quickly and it does it very very well. If I was into the roundy rounds and wiggly wiggles I would have gotten a GT 350 which is also a pony car and was # 2 in the latest Motor Trend best drivers car beating many cars 2 and 3 times as expensive and only beaten by the McLaren by a hair. Quite an accomplishment for a lowly ford. Or for not crazy money I could upgrade my suspension and hang very nicely, still being less than half the cost of the exotics. I am not downing road racing just not for me. And my point was not against any car but the idiots with lots of money and no sense. I happen to live near an area with loads of them. Just because a car is expensive does not mean its fast and just because you have a lot of money does not mean you can drive. As for my Pony car it does exactly what I ask it to, when ask.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
