There wasnt a male fitting coming out my tank, there was a female fitting thats part of the tank. The male fitting was part of the old piece i removed. Ill show it in a picture later.
Ok thanks i couldnt find that size anywhere else. I knew the ply didnt impact height, I was just writing what they listed. Ive seen some of the offbrands in 2 ply. Then i will get a mesh cover. Thanks, I know some of my questions are basic but this little tractor is new to me. This forum and members have very helpful so far and I really do appreciate it.

Heres a pic of the sediment bowl and fitting that i removed. I just need a shorter 1/8 nipple without the hex.

I agree. Looks fine. I wouldn't change it. Only gain maybe 1/8" closer to the tank with a close nipple.

Ok thanks, I will leave it as is. Sometimes i get too hung up on the little things. Ill have the rear fenders off tonight. I printed off the appropriate chapter on the hydro from the resource section on this site. Even bound it so its extra handy lol. Thanks!

Also nnero the fuel shutoff you removed from the tank was from a 1x8/1x9 model tank. Send your release valves here to get rebuilt. https://www.machtechdirect.com

Thanks for the link and info on the tank! The manual doesn't say anything about the "tunnel" cover that's over the the front of the hydro pump and goes under the steering column/dash. I don't see how to adjust the speed control cam and get everything unhooked. It doesn't look all accesible from underneath. Thanks

nnero.....Looks like you are going at this the right way. Address one issue at a time, kind of like what you was taught in science class by only changing one variable at a time and measuring the effect of that change. Before getting too much into that trunion repair, spray some PB Blaster on the relief valve and try to get it all Pillsbury and stuff (that's fancy terminology for popped out)! See how things work for you then. Make sure that it is moving with ease with your finger before starting your cub. If you don't, that cub can take off in a hurry on you in either forward or reverse and you could be hurt!!! Might be a good idea to use jack stands on the rear end and chock the front tires before starting and determining if the relief valve is freed up properly. Safety first. The leak is probably due to your gasket. Keep up the good work! Cub Cadet 123

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
