Well got the 169 all put back together after its little mini rebuild. I rebuilt the steering , put a grade 8 bolt in the axle and tightened it to squeeze the gap, all new ball joints, welded up the trunion and put new springs and guide pins in it and then i put a drive shaft assembly out of a 1650 in it with the flex couplings front and rear with new rubber disc. So now the whole machine is pretty much rebuit. Not 100%happy with the steering because i just dressed up the cam follower stud instead of buying a new one. I think i might need to splurge and get a new one to tighten it up a little more. I also bought the super steer upgrade kit from ccspecialties and am not impressed. It was a waste of money if you ask me

Managed to find the time to put one of the TruPowers on today. I love the look it gives. Maybe the little man can supervise me tomorrow putting the other on.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
