I hung up turkey hunting a couple years ago. The wife is head first into it though. Nothing like the first gobbles in the mornings. Could hear that sound every morning...

They weren't anything impressive. Just under an inch. and yes sir! there is nothing like those first gobbles at daylight! I wish my wife would get into it!

I have all the gear. Used to turkey hunt like a mad man till I filled my two spring tags (NY). Things have slowed down since married and two kids. I took my nephew 2 years ago and called him up a nice gobbler. Birds gobbling behind my house and just NO time.

My turkey hunting will slow down next year. I've got my second son on the way. He will be here any day now. I've got a few behind the house as well. They get me excited every morning. Good looking bird in the pic!

haha. I guess that is what I get for not proofing my response and typing in incomplete sentences.

Just to be clear (in case my wife gets on OCC) I am talking about turkey. If I do have other children, I am not aware of them.

The turkey were actually gobbling yesterday at 7:45 PM! Gobbled hard for about 30 minutes. I've never heard birds get that excited that late in the day.

Having visitors at the bird feeders almost weekly. See we have a couple of those black bastards around. Every time, no one has a tag. Go figure...

Did about 2hrs of fishing today, after spending the first 45 minutes loosing the worm to sun fish I decided to try a lure and landed three nice bass, size ranged from 9" to 11". My oldest son had pretty good luck with the sunfish and bluegills, he caught 5 while we were there.

No more waiting for cool weather to kill doe. Around our area, the deer population has been getting so far over populated, more doe need to be harvested to reduce the population.
Well our best time is early season, September into October. But it's been so warm lately (Global Warming

) that if you're to harvest one, you have to butcher it that night, or risk wasting the animal, and we don't roll that way.
So Nancy and I decided to buy a cooler, and start dropping some animals early. It'll work good for bear hunting as well. It'll hold two deer easily, and up to #600. They are portable, and set up in less than 15 minutes. Operates on standard 110V electric and only requires a 15 amp service.
I'm sure that people in our area find out we have a cooler, we'll have friends we didn't even know we had.
