Today I finished rebuilding a different carb for my 1282. I got to hear it run for the first time since I bought the tractor. :biggrin2.gif: The old carb was rusted shut so I used a carb from an old 10hp Kohler I had, changed out he linkage and new float too. Runs real smooth, without skipping a beat. I was really expecting the engine to smoke but I got lucky and it didn't.
I changed two of the tie-rod ends a while back. Today I thought I'd get a better tire alignment and while doing that I broke the one that didn't get changed. Looks like Monday I have a new project after I see my local NAPA dealer. Started sanding the grill shell. I think that will get painted along with the front and rear axles soon.

I did a little bit of plowing at my uncle's farm. It did pretty well for thick long grass which has'nt been turned before.

I was very pleased since it was my first time plowing. It rolled pretty good for having paint on the share. Alot of it is worn off now. I liked how it was pulling the engine some. I'm going to be getting some rimguard (beet juice) put in this week. That'll add about another 140lbs.

Spent the all day yesterday replaceing the busted steering box on my cub with loader.
After getting the steering box replaced I removed the loader from the tractor to prevent breaking the replacement steering box. |

I took the deck off the 126 today, sand blasted some light surface rust, and shot some paint on it. It should be good to go now!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
