To add insult to injury, the 2 year old washing machine got fried too. Have to buy another one tomorrow

Have you checked with your insurance co to see if anything you lost may be covered.

I have a $1000 deductible. Not worth a "ding" on my report/history for $500.

I don't cost anything to talk to your agent,
My neighbor down the street suffered a big lightning strike, He had $500 deductable but with 100% replacement on all appliances.
It was not considered an act of God.
they replaced all the wiring in the house, replaced the furnace, well pump, washer/dryer, tv's, computers, cook stove ect. ect.
It is not like Car ins where your considered a big risk when you have accidents/claims.
Worth checking into.

Jeff

You may be able to go after the utility. Your stuff was damaged by a power surge from them. Talk to your insurance co about it. It's not like you did anything to cause the problem.

after telling CL&P our local power provider here in North Eastern Ct. of wires laying across a tree branch and also complaining of an odd sound reverberating through the house at the slightest breeze we suffered a huge power surge This was when the swaying treelinb finally severed the nutral feed in the drop line from the street to out home.We found out later that CL&P was responsible for all out electronics losses because they had been notified several times of the fact this tree was compromising safety of the powerlines. We found out to late to do anything about it at the time (several years ago) One thing we did learn is that ANYTHING with a clock or instant on was the only things that got fried! Micro wave ,Coffee maker,DVD player,The cook stove anything that had a clock.. Now if we loose power (different home) I kill all the circut breakers but 1 or unplug anything like we lost so no sudden power supply when power returns.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
