Painted (silver metallic) a pair of 8 inch wide by 12 inch rims, and mounted a pair of Carlisle 23-10.50-12 Tru Power ags. Put tubes in these and will fill with windshield washer fluid.

Got a line on more parts from a 1450--I think I'm going to change out my rear axles. The discs are warped and rub the brake pads when they spin. While I'll have to drain the rear end again to replace the axles, I think it's the right thing to do.

I have a Walbro carb on the K301 in my red 149/129. The engine came from my 100 and it ran great with the Walbro. If I were you, I'd leave the carb on it as long as it runs good.

Where do I get a kit to rebuild the Walbro carb? Or is it the same kit as the Kohler carbs? I haven't dis-assembled the carb yet to see if it's the same internally.

Partstree looks like a carter carb. CCspecialties doesn't list a kit specifically for the walbro.

Here are a couple more pics of progress. It's been tough focusing on this with all the other summer stuff going on. I did score a neat new tool. This will help with decisions on what to do with the K321.

Tru powers mounted but not inflated yet. picked up a couple cases of windshield washer fluid yesterday, so will put that in them. Pulled the engine out of the 147, dropped it in the parts washer, and cleaned it up some. Need to move it to the bench and pull the head and oil pan. Will mic the cyl with my new tool and decide what to do. If not too worn will just hone the cylinder, put in rings and a new piston, replace the oil seals and lap the valves.

Mic'd the cylinder bore tonight and it's well within spec for new standard rings. 3.501 to 3.5015 (everywhere under 3.502 and the limit is 3.503.)

Ordered a rebuild kit with piston, rings, gaskets, valves, etc.

Meanwhile, will be picking up the frame, brakes, rear end from a 1450 on Thursday so I can scavenge the axles. Will be a hassle to drain the rear end and replace the gasket again, but it will be worth it I think. Once I get the axles painted and swapped out, I can put the fenders, seat, and rear wheels on while I am waiting on parts for the engine overhaul.

Pulled the axles from the 1450 frame and rear end I picked up yesterday, the discs are nice and straight. Cleaned them up and painted them. Will swap them out. The 1450 frame/rear end had nearly new brake pads on it! With the cost of brake pads, that about paid for it.

Also managed to get the flywheel and starter pulley/clutch basket off the engine. Had to get my (adult) son to assist with the the pulley removal. It took both of us with 4 foot pry bars putting most of our weight (we're both about 230) to pop that pulley off. And that's after two days of PB blaster and a judicious application of the heat wrench to the hub of the pulley. Wow is all I got to say about that.

All in all, the engine looks in fine shape--cyl glazed but smooth and in spec. Kit is "in the mail."

A few pics of ongoing progress...installed the replacement axles, refilled the rear end with hytran. Mounted the tires, weights, fenders (not bolted down yet, though), etc. loaded the tires with 6 gal of windshield washer fluid each. Tires are carlisle tru-power 23-10.50-12s. I put an extrememotorworks lift lower bracket on it this time--the kind that has double link brackets and ears that bolt to the axle carrier bolts.

The rebuild kit came for the engine, and so did some new tools--spring compressor, cyl hone, ridge reamer, waiting on ring compressor and ring pliers.

Miller tire won't have the firestone tri-ribs in until end of July, so I put the front wheels on temporarily. I guess by the time I've got the engine finished, I'll be ready for the tires.

Off on vacation for a couple weeks, so won't have any more progress to report until mid July.
