So, the parts are ordered, the clutch discs are at the machine shop, and now the waiting game! Man I hope this all comes together soon, with the Cub down and more snow on the way I just don’t know how I’m going to move it all!

You my friend are a piece of work. Put the Cub in the garage and let the JD with the FEL do the work.

Yeah J Mech, I see you're over there in Oblong, not to far from where we used to be in Montgomery County. We raised hogs and grain, never saw anything green on our farm, nothing but International!

So while I’m a waitin on my driveline parts I may as well begin to shed some light on my next upgrade. You all may have noticed from my pictures that getting any work done around here after the sun goes down may not be the easiest thing to do! Hopefully you all can help me by illuminating the options available to me in the headlight department. I was hoping to have something that at the very least had the appearance of an OEM setup. As it looks to me, the options worthy of concideration are as follows;
Modify my existing grill to accept some sort of aftermarket lights. Purchase a grill with existing headlights. |

Quoting Roy Najecki in the adamjfeste thread, "782 w/LED lights";
“For reference, this Larsenlights LED bulb draws 18 watts and puts out 1800 lumens. The Philips 415257 halogen bulb draws 9 watts and puts out 450 lumens. The OEM GE4411 incandescent bulb draws 35 watts and puts out 3000 lumens. All are PAR36 style-size bulbs.” If this is correct, the OEM bulb shown here would provide the greatest amount of lumens of the three shown. Obviously at a greater amperage draw, but is this an issue? Is the stock charging system up to the task of supporting two headlights and one rear facing work light? If I understand correctly, headlights and other extras were all available as pre ordered ‘options’ on a new tractor. If you ordered headlight did that result in an automatic upgrade to the charging system? ![]() |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
