Been a good couple days with the 1872.
Picked up the Hy-Tran and was getting ready to install the fluid, and thought there was something missing......
So I made a phone call to a buddy who bent me a plate of steel. Figured it wouldn't hurt to tie in the rear even more besides the rear axle reinforcement braces. Built myself a rear hitch that bolts into the rear and frame. I know they are available, but wanted it to be my own
Added a hook to it that's removable. Wanted it for those times when I need to pull something and don't have a clevis along. Welded nuts on the backside, two bolts and off it comes...... not that it needs too.

Todd, you should have hollered.... I have a rear hitch plate I would have made you a hell of deal on! I don't have any use for it.

Looking good my friend!

Ah, didn't know....
I got $15 in the cost of the steel, so.... it's worth it.
Thanks for the comment.

Got the fluid in today, slow and steady wins the race. Bonus, I got a good nose full of the wonderful aroma of Hy-Tran.
Also got the new decals from Maple Hunter installed. Makes a big difference, and as always, good quality decals

Nice work Todd. Looks like it's coming along great. It's amazing how a new set of decals makes a machine look so much better and I'm liking that rear plate also.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
