There shouldn't be. The gas was fresh when the problem started and its the same gas I put in my truck. At this point, Im fairly certain its a fuel related issue so I suppose I cant rule out anything in that regard.

The tractor was running great after the engine was cleaned up and the head gaskets replaced, etc. I mowed with it after that to put a heat cycle on the engine. Let it set over night and retorqued the head bolts and put everything else back together and began mowing again when this problem started and it hasn't stopped.

I took a video of the engine running at idle and then through the full range of throttle and then back to idle the day this started. I cant figure out how to get it from my phone to here.

I was thinking the same thing. Just thinking maybe the gas is old with ethanol and it has absorbed some water. Man wouldn't that be a kick in the butt if that's all it is. The symptoms fit.

I should mention too that I put SeaFoam in my gas cans when I fill them up. Everything in my garage uses the same gas and everything is running perfectly fine except this tractor.

Just for grins, next time you're messing with it, hook a voltmeter at the engine hardshell on the fuel solenoid wire and see if it's maintaining 12+ volts when the engine starts acting up.

Finally figured out how to upload my video. Watch the whole thing. Besides the obvious throttle adjustment from idle to full throttle and then back down again at the end, I wasn't touching anything. It gets much worse with the PTO engaged. The rattle you hear at idle is just the hood.

Sorry for the bad quality. I was mowing and it started acting up so I jumped off and shot this video with my phone.

You have a dead miss at low speed. Running on one cylinder. Sounds like the cylinder cuts in/out when the engine speeds up but hard to tell.

Maybe a dead mag? Vacuum leak intake manifold/head?

Your spark plugs should tell you something?

Can you do a video with the PTO on?

Okay, so as I mentioned in another thread, when I pulled the engine to clean it up, I replaced the head gaskets while it was out. I do know all the safety features have been bypassed because the tractor will run or start regardless of the PTO, brake, seat, etc. Other than the seat, I don't even know where to begin checking these bypasses because I don't know where they are. Help please!!
Make sure the engine tin is not touching the strater stud. I Bought A 782 that would not start

The intake and head gaskets are new and torqued to specs.

What am I looking for on the plugs?

Ill see about getting another video made.

I pulled the plugs. The plug on the left side of the tractor is a little damp and smells of gas.

Heres one with the PTO engaged. As you can hear, its much worse. Actually it seems worse in this one than the first one even without the PTO.

One of thes days, Ive got to do something about those broken clips on that air cleaner cover. That's not a huge concern today though.
