Is there a generic alternative? Closest CUB dealer is a bit of a drive.

I run 80w90 in all my gear drives, never had an issue even in winter.

Well if you are from balmy PA might be ok.

To the OP, Tractor Supply or most farm stores carry some kind of Hytran equivalent.

Like Tim said.. we run 80W90 with no issues at all.. but It doesn't get cold here..

If you can't find Hytran or a suitable equivalent just pick up some SAE 30 engine oil.. that's what IH used... The gear drives aren't picky!

P.S. We buy our Hytran from a Case IH dealer... not a Cub Cadet dealer.. It is quite a bit cheaper at the IH AG dealers

Pulled the clutch apart to replace the disc, but the shaft is also badly worn at the spot where the throwout bearing sits.

Agreed your driveshaft is worn. I pulled mine out of my 102 and it was worn even worse. It looked like a cam shaft but it actually still worked. Yes Jeff does great work.

Jacobson GT 10 with mower. DR Lawn vac tow behind,Home made lawn roller. Brinly cart, 2 off brand carts and 1 home made cart.
