Just checked the weather for the next 10 days, looks like I'll be able to get a few things done on the newbie. No I'm not going to waste the $$$ to try to insulate and heat the shop.

It's up on the lift, plastic is off, grill is cracked, deck and mule are off. Seat slides actually slide after a little PB. Two broken valve cover bolts. Looks like the crank seals are leaking. PTO wiring has typical issues, gotta hold it up in order for it to stay engaged, looks like a seat switch problem. Headlights don't work. Needs a good pressure washing. No tranny leaks, oil looks like crap. Had to stop for the wife's family Christmas party. Will more done as weather permits.

Got some quality shop time today. Seat pan, gas tank, foot pads, fender support, muffler, PTO are all off. Drilled out the 2 broken valve cover bolts and re tapped them. Now I need to load it up and drag it to the car wash for a bath. Unfortunately I have the water drained in the shop so no pressure washer. Surprisingly nothing fought me. I'm starting to like this tractor even more.

Glad someone is getting a shop time. Nothing but chasing kids here. I did move some parts from my shed to basement this afternoon. Also emptied mouse traps and reloaded them. Tough being surrounded by corn and bean fields.

Yeah it was killing me waking past it sitting on the lift. I'll try to get some pics.

I feed my mice a nice diet of mouse killer from TSC, can't let them go hungry.

Got little pig pen cleaned up today. Dragged the pressure washer up to the house and hooked it up to the hot water in the basement. Then hauled the 1864 up to the house and went at it. Boom pole on the BX worked like a charm. Here are the promised pics.

Love the plow/loader combination! Who says one tractor can't do everything! Project tractor looks good too. Amazing what a good hot bath will do.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
