I have a question, what is that front axle from? I am not at all familiar with CCC machines. Will that type of axle work on IH Cub Cadets? IF so,It looks like it would give a lift above stock height.I am looking for a simple way to get a 2" lift. This may be it.
Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread. Great build,by the way!
Tim

The front axle is what came on it. It's an 1863 axle. It will pick up the front end some not sure how much. Should fit IH tractors. I put one on the 1210 I used to own. They also steer much tighter and are called Super Steer axles. What are you working on?

Sam,Thanks for the info. Well, you know how it is,even when we are working on a project,we are planning another.Right now I am working on the "100 Super".I have the front axle already worked out on it. But the reason I was wondering about that 1863 axle was for my next project; either a 148 "super" or a 149 "super",frame lengthened 2"-4" in the rear, front axle moved forward
4"-6", 27" tall rear tires, and a 2" lift on the front axle. That 1863 type axle might be good to use for that. Thanks again.
BTW,your ugly duckling is not ugly at all,it looks great!

Got the JD rear wheels and tires along with the steering wheel today from Leadslingingdaddy. Took it out for a little test spin, all good but sitting on the fender pan is just a bit hard on the butt.LOL Waiting for a seat base to show up. Should have some steel tomorrow to start fabing up the grill / hood support. May leave the wheels JD yellow just cause the paint is in nice condition. I’ll try to get a couple pics later.

Not going to hide the muffler. May get one at some point that mounts on the engine. For now it works and it was free.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
