Ken, if you want it to be removable, and have no one know that it does. Weld either some all thread, or bolts in the "cover" where the spot welds were and grind the heads off and smooth out the area with bondo, and paint.
Attach your washers and nuts underneath, and no one but you, and well some of us will know the tunnel isn't permanent.

Well to start. I bought a wooded lot that joins my property and for the last week or so I have been cutting the small trees for fire wood to use in my shop.
To get the wood to my wood stack I thought this would be a good time to put my restored 1450 to work. I hauled several loads and the 1450 worked like she should (a sweet running machine).
Parked her back in the shop. The next morning I went to do some more hauling and there she sat with a large puddle of oil under the rear.
I got onto the forum and began reading and after much investigation it seems the dreaded cork gasket is leaking and a small seep of oil around the internal brake plunger, thinking this could be the o-ring.
I ordered parts and should have them next week and the repair will began.
I have read several post on the cork gasket repair but haven't seen anything on how to replace the o-ring in the brake. Any help on how to get it out and replaced would be appreciated.
