I don't know if they are correct or not. The ones I took out, that might have been the originals, were straight. The lights themselves have a tab molded into the glass that sticks up. When I was putting the new ones in I noticed there is a notch in the spring clip that the tab fits perfectly into. I just assumed that they were supposed to fit together like that. I don't know for sure. If anyone has a answer on this please advise.

They're supposed to be mounted straight (and will light your path more effectively that way), and the notch is for another application where those headlight mounts are not at a 45 degree angle. This was discussed in a recent issue of Red Power.

Looks great! I just responded to your PM. Sorry it took so long I haven't been around lately. I like the brace under your seat. It gave me an idea for raising the rear of my seat a bit.

The noise issue with the cab is very real. With chains or the AGs on it really drums going down the road. I was thinking of using Dynamat or something similar. Someone pointed out in a car forum the other day that Ice and water shield for roofing is very similar to the asphalt sound deadener that car makers use. I'm going to be getting some of that stuff for a porch roof job I have to do in the next few weeks on my house. So I may have to check it out for a couple of projects including my cab. I'm also going to add a small electric fan. I found that my breath freezes on the inside of the window pretty quick last year. Some folks have mentioned heat but I found that compared to being out in the wind the cab is very warm and I don't feel any need for heat in mine. Some people have used marine wiper assemblies for their home made cabs. They are universal and the stop points are adjustable.

You are doing a bang up job! Can't wait to see it in action. Not that I'm trying to rush winter or anything.

Well it has been awhile since I updated this so here it is.

For now it is finished. I will probably wait until next summer to work on enclosing the cab completely. having a friend that owns a sheet metal shop I think I will get together with him to make some hard doors and come up with something for the front that will won't restrict the use of the brake pedal. I am seeing it look something like MATT"S super cab when finished.

Since the last time ,I fixed the position of the headlights. Then I made some new hood hinge locks. The two weird shaped pieces that 1 bolt goes through into the nose piece. The ones I made allow me to push the hood towards the back, then lift it completely off. The way I made them there is a slight "locking " action when sliding the hood on, to keep it in place. No one would ever know unless they knew. I had to do this because when opening the hood normally, the farthest back part of the hood did not clear the cab.

I also filled all 4 tires with windshield washer fluid. I took one of the washer fluid caps and drill a hole in to put a threaded barb fitting. I put a fitting on the inside of the cap to hold it place and to seal it. I would then put the lid on the jug , turn it upside down in an elevated milk crate. Then I drilled a small (maybe 1/4) hole in the bottom(now top). My small air gun fit perfect and with a small shot of air the fluid whent right down the hose into the tires. Pretty easy ,and fast.

I also installed a dome light and a rear work light. I then found a wiper motor assembly on ebay. once I figured out what I was looking for I found allot of them. Many sellers had the same thing ,but searching for a( universal hot rod wiper motor) was the ticket. I found this one for under $35-shipped. It was not listed as a multiple sweep angle motor ,but I had to open it up to shorten the shaft and when I did all the holes were there to change the sweep angle. I would not guarantee they all do ,but would suspect they are all the same. It even has self park.

Saturday I got the plow put back on and gave it good run around for a bit. Still dealing with water in the gas, and can't seem to get the carb adjusted right. But it should be good for the season.
