Anyone remember the old tv show Hee Haw? This is starting to remind of one of their songs.

"Gloom, Despair and agony on me, if it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...."

So, we get the reply from the eBay seller, telling us the .010" rods are out of stock, and no telling when he will get more.

Then I get the bright idea to just skip the KT17, and move to the Magnum 20, out of the 2072. I pull thet tractor apart, and was shocked to find no bolts holding the motor to the motor plate. Well I take that back, there was one. I'll post a pic;

Here is a close up;

Of the (4) bolts that should be holding the motor to the plate, there is (1) left, it stayed when we lifted the engine out. Along with the ear from the base of the motor.

Bummer, it looks like I'm back to looking for the .010" under rods.

The do not carry them. My part # is 52067-72-S. They something that looks close, but I am not well versed enough in cross referencing these part numbers.

Hopefully this order goes through, I ordered (2) from here;

When I was at Kohler school this winter I was told that the K and mag rods were going NLA real fast. Seems that someone took a whole run of them, before they were sized and had them melted, to make room in a whare house! Its a shame, cause I really like these engs!

I have some rods and going to build at least one of my mags this winter. I didnt click Matts link but did you try stens for rods? Im having great luck out of my 106 eng built with stens stuff.

Well the connecting rods fell threw again, now my local dealer says he came order them. $101.00 each.

Then this morning I woke up to this?

See how much water my mig welder was sitting in?

The tub shown became submerged, it contains the Kohler parts, that were cleaned, redeay for re-assembly.

These pics were taken after the water had receeded approx 8". It looks as if the shop got 14"+ of water in it, the lift was under water.

Luckily the basement stayed dry.

My shop is usually not that messy, the water moved things around, and buckets tipped over, I guess when they began to float, they were unstable?

Thanks! Like I said, at least the house stayed dry.

What I am most concerned about is my mig welder, time will tell.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
