I got the motor mounts in the mail yesterday they came really fast. I built the mounts that go on the motor today and have it just sitting on the mounts. I am still tweeking the position of the engine to give some clearance for the steering column. The engine is currently far enough back that the oil pan will clear the axle cross member. The mounts are not yet smoothed over but that can wait till the next few times the engine will be pulled out. Dont worry about the green paint the steel was free so color does not matter. When everything is done and welded together it will be repainted.

Mr. Goffena I am whatching your thread very closely as I am going to be putting a 22hp yanmar in a 2072 this summer . Did you raise the front of the engine up to get a better angle with the drive shaft ? Or is that just the way the green motor mount picture looks . I'm hopeing to be able to use my power steering and hydro lift . I'll be using a manual tranny .Keep up the good work and post a lot of pictures. Bruce S.

The engine in in the frame rails level. I thought about it but then the crank pulley would contact the manual steering box. I do not know if there is enough room for the factory lift components or not. I will be putting in power steering and a lift at some point just not now. My major issue is having enough room at the front for a radiator battery and air cleaner.

I couldn't mark the holes for the motor mounts with the engine sitting on them so I took some black spray paint and used it to mark where the mounts were. I then removed the engine mounts and the frame rails set the mounts on them and marked the holes. Shown are the mounts bolted down. The engine moves around a little more than I would like but I have an idea on how to fix that. I mocked up the position of the radiator, battery and air cleaner. I will be getting more steel tomorrow to start building the mounts for them. The radiator has to be mounted high like it is so that the hose does not go down to it and overflow when opened.

I got a fuel tank and tunnel cover from a OCC member on Friday. I got it all set down in there and set the fenders on top. I found that I may have miss calculated the length of the frame. There was a gap between the fenders and the tunnel cover. I didn't know what I was going to do then Saturday night I took the plunge and cut the tractor back in half and made it 3/4 of an inch shorter. The pic is of it all welded back together. I will be getting some 1 inch square tubing tonight to lift the fenders up.

I got the fenders spacers built and installed. I had to mount the fenders just to see how it felt to sit on a super. I must say it is the best seat in the house
. I have a salesman pricing out some tires for the rear through work. I will see what kind of deal I can get.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
