I was just informed of a site that can save money on kubota parts, I have not been there yet but will check it out http://www.m-and-d.com/ I was also informed of copper sealing washers that go on the valve cover (head cover) that I should get to prevent weeping of oil. Thanks For the heads up on these details. Frank.

Ok after visiting that site there are some things priced lower and some priced higher. Typing the part numbers in the search box makes this site quick and easy to navigate. So when shopping I will add this site to the list. Thanks again.

Washers ordered. 60 cents each. Cheap insurance.

I suggest seeing if you can rent or borrow one from your local Kubota dealer. You really don't need to own one. Your only going to need it one time. I doubt once you get the tractor running you ever need it again.

Great leads guys. http://www.yachtsupplydepot.com/ Added to the shopping list. This site is also easy navigation when you have the part numbers. Some parts are cheaper some are more expensive.
I will look into renting a tester. It's a good point probally a 1 time use item.

I think if I was going to buy one I'd try this one from Jegs.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/JEGS-Perform..._Tools&vxp=mtr

I would call and find out if the set includes an adapter that fits the Bota.

Tacosteelerman, I bought a compression tester from harbor freight for $30 dollars. It was item number 93644 and worked great on my 1782 with the D640 motor. By the way, if you take the exhaust manifold off you can see if all cylinders are getting fuel by the puffs of smoke coming out. If it sat outside also check to see if the muffler could be plugged with rust inside.

Tacosteelerman, by the way I live in Leechburg. If you are not too far away you can borrow mine if you want.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
