Number 1 cart can be hard to find. This one is in great shape. It has some surface rust....no pitting. The tires have no cracks in them. I found only one ding in it and it is easy to fix. This trailer will be a easy one to restore if I go that route. The trailer was well taken care of during it's life. The #1 trailer was made between 1960 and 1967. I think this is an early production trailer because of the style bearing and the rims the trailer has. The diameter of the axle is .875 (7/8). The rims and axle look to be the same as on an Orginal Cub Cadet. I'm not 100% sure....I need to talk to someone who may have some infomation on this. Juniors1282-Can you measure the axle on your #1 cart? Thanks Thanks to everyone for the complements. I want to find a #2 cart, grader blade and a box blade. |

My axle is 7/8" and it has the same bearings as my original. Its all original to, I got mine from the original owner. Yours looks to in as good of shape as mine, I think mine will stay unrestored. Thanks for the info on the cover, I was trying to decide weather to put one on. I think it looks great on your 70. I was going to order one form the Sells but wasn't sure, but think I will now thanks.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
