Sam if you consider this post over the line please remove it.

Hmm any way to post a larger image than that?

Mt tractor was missing the front hub caps when I got it. Partstree as well as several other sites show part number 931-3020 as the correct cap. I ordered them ad they don't fit. Am I missing something? I assume these just snap over the bolt head or something but they don't even come close.

I just going to say that. I went back out and checked again an they snap over the washer. I wonder if those washer have been replaced and they are the wrong ones? I guess Ill look into it further when I get the wheels off to replace the tires. They may just be a tight fit since they are new. I know the ones on my 2165 fit so loose, I feel like they will fall off while im mowing. They havnt yet but sure fit loose.

A couple of months ago, I posted this....http://onlycubcadets.net/forum/showthread.php?t=36497

Today, I stopped into Home Depot to pick up a couple items. On my way out, I walk passed the lawn and garden section and saw the new Cub Enduros so I decided to check them out. All I have to say about them is thank you guys so much for talking some since into me!! What a total piece of junk! The entire tractor is plastic. I think the only metal on it is the deck and its very thin stamped sheet metal. I sat on it and felt like I was gonna break the thing in the store. It is a very cool looking tractor IMO and I love the new Cub yellow but again, thank you guys!!

Glad you made the right choice. My guess is the new stuff will be rusted away long before your 1864 gives up.

Thank goodness you had enough sense to let a bunch of strangers on the internet persuade you to spend your money on a 20 yr old lawn mower that you know nothing about.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
