I was pretty sure the muffler bearings were going bad and the kanewten valve had been making a lot of noise

Now if I can just find where I put my left handed monkey wrench, I can wrap this job up!

I was going to load my 108 up to haul it to the shop and give it a good cleaning before winter but I made it about 10ft out of the shed and ran out of gas, of course the can was empty and we had to go to her parents house so by the time we got home the kids were asleep and I couldn't fire up the cub so it got to sit outside last night.

This old girl sat out in the woods for a couple years until someone recently gave it to me for a winter project. Got all the mechanical bugs fixed then stripped it down to the engine and frame and gave it a paint job. Just got it back together over the weekend and also got the plow refinished. The next phase is to refinish the 50 inch deck and make a windbreaker for the loooong cold winter months.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
