I had the rear tins off of it, because I was moving the rear three point to the 1772.

As I started to put it back together I noticed it had a oil spot under it. Soooooooo......... It appears the crankcase vent was not functioning properly and the internal pressure pushed the crank seal out, the one behind the stator.

Parts are on order. I have to re-glue a couple of the flywheel magnets.

Then it will some quality time with the pressure washer and go back into service with a dozer blade, snow cab and chains. Until I get the H42 set -up on the 1772 (or find a good 450 for it).

Once the 1772 is ready to move snow, the 782 will be sold. Sadly I cannot make enough room to keep more than one tractor.

Default No problem with crankcase pressure

I wish my 782 would push that seal out. Mine has a positive crankcase vent custom installed before I got it. Works 2 ways, one the big opening allows any pressure out, and 2 if the pistons don't move with the crankshaft it generates no pressure. But I knew this when I bought it. I already have a vanguard to install, just a matter of it making it to the top of the ole list.

Gotta love this 60 degree+ weather in December. Sprayed some paint outside over the weekend on the GT3100 deck. I'm still learning... and got a couple runs on the vertical sections. I'm thinking I need to get a gun just for spraying paint and use my existing one for primer.

Hooked up the redneck parts hanger and sprayed some primer. There are over 20 small parts on the 3k decks.

Ah, hangers, you'll get that on them big jobs Todd
As per our phone conversation, those HF $25 guns work good for this type of "work"
Looks good from here, go with it

Default Did a little cab work

I've been doing some mockup on a cab I bought about 8 years ago . I got my 782 painted that summer so I didn't want to scratch it up getting the cab put on it.
I acquired this 1204 in a deal so I thought I would get the cab fabricated up and mounted on it, then put it on the 782 .
My lovely wife is making the front vinyl part of the cab . I know it isn't any thing that will hold heat I will still have to dress for the occasion , but it will make things a lot more pleasant.

Default Worked on and with the 1782

The 1782 got new fuel lines, filters, fuel shutoffs and grommets this past week plus brake adjustment and was buffed out and waxed. It runs and looks much better! Then, we had fun shredding all those oak leaves that keep falling on the yard.

Today I pulled the shields off the Kohler m18 in the 1811 and replaced the starter and torqued the head bolts. tomorrow I will clean up all the old grassy oily buildup that sits inside and under those heat shields. It took a lot more time to get the shields off then to do the rest of the work. What a pita to get the bolts out on the bottom of the motor!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
