Hey Mrgitrdone
Now you've done it. You have pushed me to the point of restoring my 86! It's one of only 12 that I keep indoors (that means it's special). Even though I'm currently restoring a 782, Original and finishing my 123 leopard Cub, I will start the 86 tonight. My 86 is all original with the special muffler and so on. Now see what you started Actually I was looking for an excuse to start working on it:biggrin2.gif: I hope it keeps me so busy that I won't have a chance to go look at 12 more that I am interested in If my wife ever finds this site and reads this I will be sleeping with my tractors for a long time, and it's real cold here in Ohio. |

Nice
That is one fine looking 800. One of my two favorite CC's. The other is model 100 with options. I am fortunate enough to have one 800 in showroom condition and two extras in original condition. One is missing the muffler and starter so I guess I'll call it a parts tractor. What a way to start the new year

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
