Seems I have to add some weight to the back to test the new FEL. So today was the day to build a sleeve hitch. I'll bolt a 16" X 18" platform to it for now and start stacking batteries on it.

Model 100 Feb 2019 apart for total frame-off / sandblast etc resto

Model 70 Sep 2020 needs total resto and an engine, or for parts
Model 70/100 Mar 2021 buried in rust, frozen engine, got free for parts.

I loaded three big batteries on the back of the Cub and went out to move some icy snowbanks for proving and practice. I've never been on a subcompact tractor that I know of and the only bucket work has been on skid steers and huge cat loaders, so this should be fun.

Right away I realized I can handily pick up more than the counterweight I have so far.

Right off the bat, I ran out of gas. Filled her up and away we go!

Then within a few minutes the engine just quit, like it was out of fuel again. Filter is empty. Then I remembered that I had cut out a cork gasket for the filler cap, looked and the little hole I poked in it wasn't enough. The gasket was sucked down in the middle. Bigger hole and off we go again!

Didn't take me long to get stuck on the wet icey lawn when I went a couple feet off the driveway. Had to push off with the bucket.

Then I was crossing the street to pull some snow back for an old lady ..... and a front wheel fell off I found the bolt ten feet away while walking to the garage for the floor jack. Put the wheel back on, tightened the bolt and being only partly dumb I even checked the other one. Did a bit more bucket work then figured I better quit before something big goes bad.

It was fun! Going to order some ag's and fill them. And I may have to make a temporary heel/toe pedal, or grow another arm.

Finsruskw; hopefully you didn't jinx me with the warning

It was a cold rainy day so I figured I'd get a temporary heel/toe control set up. I found this round iron contraption in The Pile, leftover from a long ago project and it looked about right. Cut some surplus off and tacked on a 1/2" id collar and tried it out. I'll have to fiddle with more curve until the ergonomics feel right. It's not intuitive for me, not yet anyway. But it is nice to have one hand free for steering

Also a good day to replace the hood hinge with a piece of heavy gauge hinge. Drilled a few holes and bolted that on. Someone on here recently posted pics of a very neat hood stop, that I'd like to copy. Right now the hood rests perfectly on the loader hoses.
