That looks to me like in just a few years you will be losing that beautiful tractor to an equally beautiful granddaughter.

Plowed about 6" of heavy wet snow with my 149. Very impressed with its abilities. Glad to have the hydraulic lift.

Thumbs up More Snow!

Hey all, I have been out with the model 72 with IH 56" blade twice this morning already! The snow has been falling heavy! I'd say we're well over 12" by now in a matter of 24 hours. I can't say enough about the model 72 with the rebuilt Kohler K241 all-gear drive tractor! She'll load up that IH 56" and power right on through! I can push that snow clear back into the yard, and not worry about wrecking up the lawn,... something you'll never do with a full-size truck! The 72's greepy gear makes operating between parked cars safe and careful. Back-dragging most of all our walkways, and minimal snow shoveling gets the remainder! This year I have reconditioned the blade shoes, and have been using them from the start of winter. I have the shoes set about 1.5" above, and I notice a lot less stress on the blade during operation. Before, with out the shoes, when the ground is still not yet frozen, the blade would dig into the gravel drive, and peel up strips of sod. I'm now a believer of the shoes on my IH 56" snow blade!

Have a good day enthusiasts!!!!

Better you than me, I hate snow. 30, sunny and windy here. Supposed to be in the 60's to 70's this weekend.

Have fun with the snow. Looks like the 1811 is Gittin Er Done.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
