New guy here, this is my first and only cub, a '68 125. I restored it two winters ago and have been using it ever since! I've also got a #1A tiller, blade, QA36 and QA42, extra set of rims/tires with front tri-ribs and rear ags/weights for the winter. Just looking for a NF hydraulic lift to finish it...
Hope these work, too bad it'll never be this clean and shiny again (unless I restore it again after another 40 years of use!)... |

Looking good. I wouldn't worry about it being clean and shiny, I believe these machines are made to work.
My one and only is a '68 125 too.

I have never seen the dipstick out the side like that. Most that I know of are out the top by the exhaust and the generator. Looks nice and shiny though.

It's a replacement motor - it was swapped in '95 - I even got all of the receipts with it! I think the owner put the new motor in and then realized everything else on the tractor was wore out so it didn't see much use. Nothing you can't fix with a grinder and a MIG welder though!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
