I never thought it was relevant to name a cub other than the number designation it was born with. Although I did name a 1977 Pontiac Parisienne wagon I had LaBamba. This thing was puke green with vinyl wood grain on the side of it. It was a real beauty queen. Head liner had fell off and all that was left was foam on the ceiling. The wife hated that car with a passion. The guy I got it from put a mildly built Buick 350 with a 4 barrel and headers on it. For a 4000lb tank that baby would haul the mail.

I had a two tone green Caprice that was named The Dill Pickle.

Maybe it is because you "ride" them?

I don't name mine. I'd forget what I named them anyway!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
