Ags2140 to hds2145
I'm being given the old ags 2140 my dad's had for years since almost new. Trans has been driven properly it's whole life, but also has been sitting unused for the past 8 years.
My possibly unnecessary question is, is it possible to swap the 2145 hydro trans onto my 2140 if the trans goes bad? Just curious. From all my reading and research the two are basically identical but I have no idea if the mounts are or not. A side question, I'm not overly fond of the hood on these 2000 series would it be terribly hard or dumb to swap to something more square. And at this point just use it and save for something older more square and with a hydro trans? |

Question #2. I can't think of any bolt on hoods that would match, but anything is possible if you have the skills, time, and money. , |

Yes I didn't figure anything might be bolt on. I haven't seen anyone from my searches do anything to these 2000 series. From what I gather they probably arnt to much worth doing anything too. |

I have a 2185 i really like.
But yes the best use for most 2000 series tractors is engine swaps. Because they can be picked up cheap and have 13-25hp horizontal shaft engines that can be repurposed for lots of other things.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
