Cubby Diehard
Been a Cub person along time. I bought my first one 102 with tiller, added snowplow, snowblower, and Brinly one bottom plow. That was in 1980. I still have it but went on back burner. Bought another for parts a couple of years later. Used it till about 1998, then got a 1650. The motor went and my brother who was a cub person bought it. My neighbor sold me a 1641,then my wife said buy new so you have work on them. Had my 102 working but needed some parts.
We went to the CC dealer and looked at the new ones, Year 2001, 3000 series. I said i'm not spending $5000 to mow grass. Got my parts to fix 102 again. Then the neighbor up the road had a 3165 for sale. 100 hrs got it for $1700. Still thought was a lot. It looked cheap against my 102. 19 yrs later I tell everyone the best thing I love is the power steering. But all in all its been good. The bug hit, just got a 1440 last year and this year 3225,and a 3206. That's why I joined. The 3225 is working the 3206 has Hyd problems. I will start a new thread for that one. Hope you are ready for questions. Read a lot already,s o I have a good understanding of the 3000 series. Thanks for letting me join. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
