Hydraulic Cylinder information for the 42/54" plow
I had found this thread: http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/s...hydraulic+plow
and I just looked on partstree to see if I could find out what size bore/stroke the cylinder had to be (I know it's double acting). I had seen someone post one in that thread that was 1.5" bore and 6" stroke, but wasn't sure if that was the correct information--does anyone have the correct information on that part? Trying to see how much it would cost to make a non-hydraulic plow hydraulic. Thanks |

I think I found a wide frame plow and will be making the trek to pick it up this weekend; anyone out there have the hydraulic information for the kit or the hydraulic cylinder used in the kit to make it a power angle plow?
I found these hydrualic cylinders to be pretty reasonable. Thanks in advance. |

That sounds about right...
Personally, I can't see the heftiness of that cylinder just to angle the blade.

EDIT: Went back and watched the youtube video and you can't see the cylinder I guess, but the blade does move quite a bit. Hopefully someone on here might have one and have the info. |

According to the CPE-2A Manual, it says 1-1/2" x 7-1/2"

Pretty sure there is two different sizes on the ram for the cylinders.
I think when the cylinders came out for the QL's , they had the smaller rams. Somewhere when the 82 series came out is when they went to a bigger ram. Not sure if the cylinders are all the same size ?? I have an angling kit and the ram is smaller than the one in Rolands pic. |

I have to disagree, since the cylinder holds the blade at whatever angle it's set at, it would need to be fairly hefty. It would have to withstand any pressure applied to the blade.

The early hyd. angle cyl. for the quiet lines were a smaller cyl and ram and were prone to bending on the 54in. blade. the 82 series have the larger cyl. and ram as in the above pic. Mark

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
