Lots of "opportunity"
Good Morning all!!
I've been away for few years. Recently returned to my little herd. (About the only things the ex-wife didn't give away.) IH 1100, CC 1210, CC 1811, CC 2072 SGT. The 2072 is in pieces. A project I started before the divorce, but was unable to complete. Began as a starter replacement, but once I had the engine out...ya know.... 1210 was running, but one day it would not move. Something in the Hydro I reckon. 1811 was mowing when I left, but for some reason, it was left to sit, unused, for three years. Mice got at the wires, so now I gotta replace ignition module. (ouch...$$$), and breather tube. Oil looks great, so hopefully I'll get this machine into service quickly. Brings us to the oldest machine. The trusty 1100. Right angle gear box and all....For all they did to that model to make it competitive in the market, it was still built like an IH. Cleaned carb, washed out fuel tank, changed oil, blew out about 8 pounds of mouse nesting, charged battery, and she fired right up. PTO engages, and blades spin. Looks like of all my tractors, that one will be pressed into service yet again. 42" deck, and 2-1/2 acres to get under control. I'll be getting after the 1811 ASAP. That was a really nice machine. I miss my SGT tho. Hopefully I can find all the parts. So much got sold, or given away while I was gone. Thank goodness the 1100 wasn't much to look at. lol. Trying to reconnect, and could use a lead on reasonable CC parts supplier. I just KNEW that 1100 would fire up. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
