New 169
Good afternoon -
Wanted to share my new purchase with everyone. It's located in Tennessee - was wondering if anyone has ever shipped a tractor before and could shed some light on that. More pics to come! Jim |

Yeah wow that is money. Super nice example of a 169. Mines not close but runs perfect so I will be ok with spending the time and money to resto. Very nice sir congrats.
Btw I shipped a four wheeler back in the day that I bought in Texas with R and L on an LTL truck and it wasn't that bad. Came right to the door with a drop gate truck and he used his manual pallet jack and put the crate right in my garage. This was years ago but might be worth it. I'm thinking fastenal is the way to go though, isn't around $150 or so? If you're having it palletized make sure you specify to use some good banding and over do it. I've seen a lot of product shift in bad ways in the back of a semi over the years, only takes one good panic stop and people love cutting off big trucks for some stupid reason. Good luck and nice 169.

I worked in Transportation for 30 years. You will not beat Fastenal at 150.00. You only have to have the seller put it on a pallet and strap her down. I have used them a couple of times and their great. Nice 169.

Thank you all for the kind words and advice.
The fellow selling it is older and I am not sure what he is willing to do to get it ready for shipping. Strap it on a pallet? Would it fit? Does it have to be on a pallet for them to take it? I am not well versed with this fastenal stuff so please forgive my stupidity lol |

You ain't stupid, just don't know.
Needs to go on a pallet so it can be picked up and loaded in the truck for transporting. Call your local store tomorrow to get details. Plus not all of them ship either. Good luck.

Yes, it has to be palletized (not necessarily a wooden pallet, just a shipping "device") for Fastenall to ship it. Yes, it will fit on a pallet. If the owner is an old man and won't do it, you better get your checkbook out. From Tennessee to New York, even through Fastenall, will likely be in the neighborhood of $300, maybe a bit more. Then pay someone to palletize it.... Should have worked out shipping details with the old man BEFORE purchasing it. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
