Default CC 122 starter turns don't crank engine
turn the key the stat gen turns but the engine don't turn over.
I charged the battery but it don't seem to make a difference.
any one know what to check or do next?

Tighten the belt? Or are saying the SG is trying to turn but wont? Or is it spinning the belt.
Will the engine turn by hand?

Well if the starter/gen is turning and the engine is not, either the belt is missing, loose, or the Starter/gen pulley has come loose and is slipping on the shaft of the starter/gen.

Or the basket pulley is broke, lost the key, or stripped out.

The belt is on. Not sure bout basket pulley never fooled with that. Guess I'll have to learn about it.

Well I tightened this and adjusted that, kicked it a few times and threatened it once or twice, called it a few names then turned the key and walla it started.
