What he did was take a small chunk of steel in the shape of an L, drilled it for a bolt and bolted it into the frame of the 107 using an existing threaded hole. Then he drilled a hole through the other end of the bracket for an eye hook. Attached a spring to that. Then on the end where the implement lift rod attaches to the CW-36, he took a small piece of bar stock and drilled one hole large enough for the hook in the spring, and another hole large enough to go over the implement lift rod. Reassemble, and adjust the spring tension as desired. Works good. He may have drilled another cotter pin hole on the implement rod. I can't remember. Would work with a snow plow too. Doesn't help if you're wanting rear implement lift though. Hope this at least gives you some ideas. |

Brinley SA is easy to make. A factory 1 would be harder.

I've seen the brinley. Would that still help on the front end?, I would assume it would since everything is tied together.

I have made several of them in the past couple of years.
Unfortunately, the "closest to factory" springs that I have found are 1.5" in diameter and the factory springs are 1.25" so the ones that I have made will ONLY fit on gear drive Narrow Frame tractors (they rub the side of the rear end housing on hydros).

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
