Front hydraulics on a 982....Part 1
I needed front hydraulic connections on my 982 to run different options, since my 982 only had a single spool valve I picked up a 3 spool valve from Epay for around $40.00 last summer that came off a John Deere. I was going to modify a twin lever for a two spool valve but it must have come off a 782, it was 3/4" too short so I had to modify the single lever that came off the 982. I bought some bushings and flat stock from tractor supply and modified them a bit and tacked everything together. I had a striped 982 frame in the garage and used it as a test dummy to fit up the valve, worked out pretty good. I still have to modify the valve mounting plate and plumb up the hydro lines and connectors to the front as play money allows, that will be part two.

Thanks guy's, now that I know it works I can start the finish mount and think about plumbing. I really like the 3 spool, as looking at it in the picture the spool on the left has a "float" position which will work good on one side of the front. It also has a power beyond port for at least one more hydraulic valve option in the future, who knows ?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
