Default Kentuckian on board

Howdy folks. Brand new to this forum, and a relatively new Cub Cadet owner. I have a 108 that I nursed back to pretty good health (but am currently experiencing a charging problem). I also have another non-running 108 that I'm about to put a 14hp motor on. I'm just having fun with them. Looking for smart advice like little secrets that some of you already gleaned through frustration, blood, sweat and tears. I hail from Radcliff, KY, which is a few miles south of Louisville, and right outside Fort Knox. Some say us Kentuckians are a little backwards, thus my login name. Case-in-point: I misspelled my own name! Oh well!

I knew you Western Ky boys were a lil backwards, LOL. Well, us central KY boys aren't much better hehehehe. Welcome to OCC, glad to have you here. There is a ton of information in our technical libraries and a bunch of great people here with all sorts of great info about these cubs. As a note of interest we love pics here.

Welcome! I'm from Michigan... all we're known for is to say "mmm... bye" at the end of a telephone call.

To both of you. I have a small fleet including 108 and 124 that I love. The 108 was bought new by my grandfather and my best friend gave me the 124 to use for parts but it looked so good that I'm putting it back together.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
