Question Low Oil Pressure in ZT1 42" with Kohler 7000

I have a Cub Cadet ZT1 42" zero-turn mower. Last month, just after my mower was two years old, a quart of oil was on my garage floor. The shop I bought it from replaced the transmission under warranty.

Cub Cadet seemed to have recently come out for an hour meter for my specific mower, so I installed it. Whenever I turn the key, the message "Low Oil Press" appears even before starting. I checked the oil, and it's right at the top mark for where the level should be. After running the mower for a while, the engine never shuts off, even though the low oil pressure is still displayed.

Does anyone know what the issue could be or what I should check? If it was low oil pressure, it seems to me that the engine would immediately shut off when it gets too hot. Since that doesn't happen, I wonder if it's a faulty hour meter.

That would be normal.

Sounds like something is not wired right.

The Hour Meter, the Oil Light, and the Ignition Switch are different circuits.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
