in my 102 i changed engine to a k-301a from a k-241a. now the rear end howls ,it's full of oil. any reasons

could have bad input shaft bearings. front is a ball bearing and rear of shaft is a needle bearing. Not sure how well any oil makes it up to these bearings. Long long way to go.

yeah might take fenders off and look and then fill it right to the top. it doesn't really howl it sorda wines.

If you fill it to the top it will be coming out of every seal, as well as the shifter. Put in no more than it was designed for.

The rear has straight-cut gears, so some whining is normal. I'd say you're worrying about nothing.

yeah, don't put more oil in! But it does sound like you had the tractor for a long time and know this is a new wierd sound.

You might double check your brake adjustment. Could be it's a little tight.

it doesn't leak but i didn't mean right to the top. mean from the fill hole in the back. i only had the tractor for six months. it's my new pulling tractor. so i shouldn't worry about a thing. but my brakes are hanging up after i adjusted them a little lose.
