Default Aluminum grill housing

When I was at the pulls in Springfield last winter I could have swore I saw someone selling an aluminum grill housing for a narrow frame. Am I crazy or has someone else seen one? If they're out there where can I buy one? It looked just like the original cast nose. I need to loose some weight to get to 950 and it's easier to put the tractor on a diet than myself! Also how well does the Nichols aluminum hood match the original steel? Close enough to pass as OEM?

I'd love to run a glass nose but it needs to look like a factory grill to stay in the class I'm running.

actually the fiberglass is about 6lbs heavier but it looks more like the original than the aluminum.

The nose I'm looking for is cast aluminum not the sheet metal. So it looks like a factory casting once painted. Uses stock grill and head light panel, just lighter.

D & M small engines sell the cast aluminum front grill. It's a 1X2 style.

You're welcome! There is a cast aluminum front Axel too, but I am not 100% sure who sells them.

Default Grille

A lighter version for the 70/100 would be the fiberglass piece from Amstutz pulling parts in Indiana. The aluminum one is lighter but still heavy, the plus is you could push on the aluminum as opposed to the lighter fiberglass.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
