129/1650 with after market loader
Hey guys,
This will be a long post so bear with me. I've asked a few questions before on here about doing this or that, so I decided to put it all together. A couple of years ago, I acquired a 1650 with a ported hydro and lift cylinder with the idea of putting one of those aftermarket loaders that comes as plans on the 1650. The 1650 hydro has the automatic unloading valves in the hydro unit. This tractor was parked outside for several years with a bad engine. I've got it inside now. When this tractor was first moved, the rear wheels would not turn. Now both tires roll. I know not to move it very far as it may cause damage. While procrastinating about building the loader, I came across a 129 with the same loader pre-built. It had issues, but I'm slowly working through them. The 12 horse was shot, but I had a rebuilt 14 hp K-series ready to install. I'm working through the wiring as this is a later model 14 hp that has the rectifier. I would like to take the ported hydro and hydraulics out of the 1650 and put them into the 129. I also need to use the 1650's rock shaft. I like having the left hand hydro controls on the 129 as the loader controls are on the right side. Eventually I want to install the aftermarket cat 0 kit on this tractor as well. Is there anyway to test the 1650 hydro before moving it to the 129? Will I run into any issues moving the rock shaft and hydraulic cylinder? I thought about moving the loader to the 1650 frame, but thought this way might be easier. I appreciate any input you guys have. Sorry for the long windedness of the post. Larry |

Are you wanting to take 2 tractors (1650 and 129) and make one tractor out if it?
Several suggestions: 1. I would use the wire harness out of the 1650 in your 129. That way you can connect the charging system to the 14 hp motor. 2. Move the loader to the 1650. The 14 hp shpuld be a bolt in if the motor can from a Cub Cadet. The hydro pump, rockshaft, lift cylinder and controls from the 1650 will fit the 129. They should bolt rght in. I don't have a way to bench test a hydro pump. Maybe someone else can help. |

Merk,
Yes, I guess that's what I want to do. I'll check out the 1650 wiring harness. I had an extra 1000 harness that I would have used, but the plug ends are extremely rusted. I thought about moving the loader to the 1650 frame, but I figured moving the smaller pieces (hydro pump, hydraulics, etc.) would be easier. I appreciate the help. Larry |

Here is one that I took just after I brought it home. The guy I bought it from almost had it finished. Right there was maximum lift of the bucket due to wrong length hoses. I've rerouted some hoses to keep them from getting pinched, some hoses were too short, and have been making other changes to my likes. Now the bucket will go above 6 feet. This was one of those deals you couldn't pass up and would always talk about if you did. I paid less for the tractor and loader together than I would have had wrapped up in materials for the loader. Thanks for the compliments. I haven't been able to work on it as my garage is unheated. Too many years in a climate controlled factory.
Cadet169, are you making the PF Engineering loader?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
