Too much time on my hands....and it's cold
After 3 attempts I finally got the steering wheel off my 1450. Man 35/40 yrs sure have those things on tight. Sitting around with yellow fever and the weather here in MI so crappy I wanted to do something so I got to looking at my steering wheel and thought what the heck let's shine it up a bit.
Pic 1 is a spoke just as I found it, all nicks and sun fade. Pic 2 is a spoke wet sanded up to 1000k grit and pic 3 is the same spoke buffed with tripoli on a cotton buff. I'm amazed at how well the wheel cleaned up after 35 yrs or so of sun fade and other damage. They made em tough.

How did you fill in the cracks on it,what did you use? I put a 2 part epoxy on my cracked steering wheel and I water sanded then painted it. Just wondering how you fixed yours?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
