Default 50" deck front wheel kit?

Good afternoon

Been trying to educate myself on these 50inch decks that came on my 169. They seem to be somewhat flimsy compared to the 42" on my 126.

I seen there is/was a front wheel conversion to remove the bars? Could someone with know how fill me in on the ins and outs of these decks. I'll post a pic of the underside

Thank your the reply. I clicked the link in your thread but the link appears to be broken unfortunately. Would you be able to find them again?

Additionally, how did the POR15 hold up? I was considering a product called Agriguard.

Is the kit a direct fit for these decks minus the welding?

Thanks!

I lobbed mine off an old deck, then welded them to the 50". These cats sell what you're looking for. http://www.xtrememotorworks.com/Part...Cub-Cadet.html
Your deck looks to be in exceptionally good condition.

Mr Zippel posted the proper link. The POR 15 seams to have held up well. I think it does best when the sun can't get to it. The weld on brackets might need a little "fitting" to match the profile of your deck.

Was there ever a IH kit offered for these decks as well?

I am not a welder but I think on of my friends can help me out with this. Are there any other modifications I can do to the deck to improve it and ensure its longevity?

Thanks again guys

If you mean a front wheel kit, yes. To my knowledge, it is NLA. The ones xtreme makes are and exact copy of the OEM ones.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
