Front tire for snowplowing AND mowing?
I have got the factory turf tires on and clearly they don't do much when it comes to turning in the snow. Plowing a relatively flat 125' or so driveway.
My mowing situation is 1.5 acres hilly and flat mixed. Rear tires are the Carlisle all trail tires and drive wheel traction is no longer an issue with those. But I'm wondering about if I get something like a 3 rib to make plowing steering control better, will that be really bad for the grass? For example: http://www.millertire.com/products/l...b-front-4-ply/ Sorry I forgot to mention it's a Cub Cadet 2518. |

It won't hurt the grass.... and it will be better in the snow. I think you will find when it comes to ice or packed snow nothing will work.

Cut down the angle on your blade if the snow is deep and/or make up a set of mini tire chains for the front tires.
If you're pushing the snow 125' before you stop pushing, that could be a lot of snow |

Does your 125 have wide or narrow front tires?
Here is another tire that should have good side bite and leave very little marks: http://www.millertire.com/products/i...70-60-8-6-ply/ The tire you posted has a wide-tall center rib that could leave a mark easier than the one I posted. Here are 2 different narrow rib tires that on the market: Both do a good job with side pull and don't leave very much of a mark unless you are on soft ground.

I run ags on the front of my 1200 and no problems tearing up
The lawn. Turns very easy too! Tri ribs I'd think would be fine.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
